Costa Rica: VW Truck and Bus signs strategic alliance with Grupo Purdy

The investment aims to attract new customers and boost government sales.

In line with its expansion goals, Grupo Purdy, a comprehensive leader in mobility solutions, is the new importer of VW Truck and Bus in Costa Rica. The company is investing in the manufacturer's models to strengthen its presence in the cargo and passenger transport segments. The brand’s arrival at Grupo Purdy dealerships is backed by investments in infrastructure, technical training, and the strengthening of the national service network. For VWTB, this new collaboration further expands its presence in Central America.

With more than 68 years in the market, Grupo Purdy’s vision is to offer reliable and sustainable mobility solutions that generate real value for its customers, advising them throughout the process with specialized support and national coverage through seven dealerships—a number that continues to grow. The alliance was driven by product complementarity, VWTB’s global reputation for technology and quality, and the importer’s ability to provide specialized support and nationwide coverage.

In addition to the aforementioned preparation, Grupo Purdy invested in infrastructure, inventory for immediate delivery, hiring and training of employees, and the expansion of the service network.

By offering the Delivery, Constellation, and Meteor families, as well as the 17.260 bus model for urban transport, Grupo Purdy aims to serve large and medium-sized enterprises, public transport operators, corporate fleets, and independent transporters. Growth is also expected in the public sector, especially in waste collection trucks and special applications—segments where VWTB holds extensive experience.
